New reports have revealed how the Lewis family feels about Daniel Levy’s decision to step down as Tottenham Hotspur chairman.
It is undeniably a new era at Tottenham Hotspur, a club that has been undergoing sweeping changes both on and off the pitch, and the latest of those came with the announcement of Daniel Levy’s departure as chairman.
The 63-year-old has held the role for a quarter of a century, overseeing multiple European qualifications and guiding Spurs to two trophies, the first being the League Cup win in 2008 and the most recent, the UEFA Europa League triumph last season.
However, Levy’s long reign at Tottenham was not without fierce criticism, with large sections of Tottenham supporters voicing their discontent over the years and holding numerous protests that called for Levy to step aside.
Lewis family stance on Daniel Levy’s Tottenham exit
According to sources close to the Lewis family, who remain the club’s ultimate owners, they are fully supportive of the direction Tottenham are now heading in following Levy’s decision to step down.
Speaking to Sky News, those close to the family explained that their commitment to the club remains firm and that they share the same desires as supporters, with one insider saying the family are focused on delivering more victories and sustained progress.
“Generations of the Lewis family support this special football club and they want what the fans want – more wins more often. This is why you have seen recent changes, new leadership and a fresh approach,” a source told Sky News.
“In Vinai Venkatesham, Thomas Frank and Peter Charrington, they believe they are backing the right team to deliver on this. This is a new era.”

Spurs begin life under Thomas Frank
Tottenham have begun their journey under new boss Thomas Frank in promising fashion, with the Dane already picking up two wins from his first three matches in charge.
He has shown that he is unafraid to take on elite opposition, going head-to-head with Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and former Premier League champions Manchester City, losing narrowly to the French side on penalties but securing a 2-0 victory at the Etihad against Pep Guardiola’s men.
Although Levy played a role in Tottenham’s summer business, helping bring in six new signings as the club looks to re-establish itself at the top end of English football, Spurs are now pressing forward into a new chapter without the 63-year-old at the helm.
