Mike Maignan’s future is still at the forefront for many AC Milan fans, and it seems that the Rossoneri have a plan of action outlined.
As much as Milan do not want to think of the next steps, they cannot be left without. Ultimately, they are in a position where Maignan will either stay or leave in the summer; there is no avoiding that anymore.
So, they must plan for both scenarios; failing to do so would be catastrophic.
The next in line
No action will be taken until Maignan makes a decision, and that much has already been established. However, football moves quickly, and if needed, the Rossoneri will be able to make things happen.
Of course, if he decides to leave, a replacement will be required, and with several options already suggested, it seems that the club have settled on Hugo Souza, as Sportmediaset reports via Calciomercato.com.

The Brazilian arrived at Corinthians for €800k and his performances have brought European interest. However, he would still be very attainable, and it would only cost around €10 million to bring him to Serie A.
The 26-year-old is a standout candidate, and if Maignan does not renew, he will be the new No.1, it seems.
