Fabrizio Romano has shed light on Tottenham Hotspur’s next step with Roberto De Zerbi after the club parted ways with Igor Tudor.
Of all the managers that have been sacked at Tottenham over the last two decades, Tudor’s was arguably the least surprising.
The announcement of the Croat’s departure always felt an inevitability after the Lilywhites were thrashed at home by their relegation rivals, Nottingham Forest, last Sunday.
Many Tottenham fans feel that Sean Dyche may be the right man to get the club out of trouble, but the club’s hierarchy may go in a different direction.

Tottenham are on a ‘mission’ to appoint Roberto De Zerbi
De Zerbi has been heavily linked with the Tottenham job over recent weeks, and Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the Lilywhites have still not given up on their ‘dream’ of appointing the Italian.
The journalist claimed that Spurs are on a mission to bring the former Brighton boss through the door over the coming days.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “What I can tell you today is that Tottenham are still dreaming of Roberto De Zerbi, are still hoping to confirm Roberto De Zerbi as their top target and also still trying to find a way to appoint De Zerbi.
“Now that remains the mission that remains the dream of Tottenham Hotspur, I would say, because the two names I’ve always mentioned to you are on one side, Roberto De Zerbi.”
Mixed reports on De Zerbi’s keenness on Spurs’ job
Over recent days, some reports have claimed that De Zerbi is ready to jump into the Tottenham job and is not fazed by the challenge of keeping the club in the Premier League.
However, other sources suggest that the Italian is not too keen on jumping into a relegation battle with Spurs, and would prefer to wait until the summer to assess his options.
Based on Romano’s latest revelation, it appears that Tottenham are keen to persevere and somehow convince De Zerbi to accept the job.
