Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s chances of causing an upset against PSG

Thomas Frank and the Tottenham players will not want to take a look at what Opta’s Supercomputer has predicted ahead of their trip to face Paris Saint-Germain.

Joao Palhinha has promised Spurs fans that they will see a response from the players after their drubbing at Arsenal.

However, unfortunately, Palhinha and co face what is arguably their toughest challenge of the season so far, with a trip to Paris to take on PSG up next.

Tottenham are still unbeaten in the Champions League this season, but they will be down on confidence after their horror show at the Emirates, and Spurs fans will be worried that things could get ugly at Parc des Princes.

PSG are overwhelming favourites against Tottenham

If Spurs fans were looking for a ray of hope from the predictions of Opta’s Supercomputer, they have got just the opposite.

The algorithm has the Ligue 1 giants as massive favourites, giving them a 65.8 per cent chance of getting three points against Thomas Frank’s side.

A draw is the second most likely result in the French capital, with Opta giving a 18.9 per cent chance of a stalemate.

The date analysis platform has given Tottenham just a 15.3 per cent chance of registering their first Champions League away win of the season.

Spurs need to avoid a big defeat in Paris

In some respects, this game is a free hit for Tottenham as they are not expected to get anything out of it.

Thomas Frank’s men may have taken confidence from how they played against PSG in the Super Cup, but the Dane would have second thoughts about using five at the back, as he did at Udine, given how the system backfired at the Emirates.

The Lilywhites need to avoid another heavy defeat, as it may be difficult for the players’ confidence to recover from another drubbing like the one on Sunday.
