AC Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that Ardon Jashari wants to join, while introducing Massimiliano Allegri.
After finishing in eighth place last season, the Milan leadership decided that a new era was needed. The first port of call was to go after a ‘traditional’ sporting director, and after much deliberation and speculation, Tare was chosen.
Tare has already been very busy. He met with agents and directors on his first day in charge, and has held numerous discussions about the strategy for the summer before his first big move: hiring Massimiliano Allegri as the head coach.
There is plenty more work to do, though. The desire to sign a new striker has been publicly stated, two new starting full-backs must arrive plus at least one midfielder and, of course, many sales to thin out the squad.
Tare introduces Allegri
The new director Tare spoke alongside the new coach Allegri at Casa Milan on Monday afternoon to officially introduce the 2025-26 season, and his comments were relayed by MilanNews.
Firstly, a greeting…
“Good morning everyone, thank you for being so numerous for the presentation of our new coach, Massimiliano Allegri. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him and his staff for the great enthusiasm shown.
“We saw in him a figure capable of bringing great experience and mentality, it was a choice shared with the club.”
Can you tell us anything about Ardon Jashari?
“I can tell you that the boy wants to play for us, but we have to respect the dynamics and choices of Brugge. We believe we have made the right offer and I hope that this story can end in the best possible way.”
