According to a report this morning, AC Milan have held discussions with a Bundesliga star, who is open to a move to Italy.

The requests for another striker are understandable. Milan have one striker at a senior level. It is not a case of trust, but coverage. Of course, the fact that Santiago Gimenez has not convinced Massimiliano Allegri also adds to this.

So, the Rossoneri are willing to bring in another to strengthen the front-line, and the budget to do so will be high. In fact, around €50 million has been allocated to the position; perhaps, a little crazy considering how much was spent on Gimenez in January. Nevertheless, it is a statement of intent.

New idea opens… literally

Several names from Italy and England have been suggested, with Nicolas Jackson and Jean-Philippe Mateta being linked this morning by reports. However, there have not been many ideas from anywhere else.

Until now.

As Sacha Tavolieri reports on his X account, the club have held discussions with Victor Boniface recently, and the Super Eagles striker has ‘opened’ to the move. Bayer Leverkusen could allow him to leave permanently this summer, but there are no guarantees of this just yet.

In 42 Bundesliga games for Leverkusen, the 24-year-old scored 22 times, assisting another nine, an impressive record, indeed.
