Tavolieri: Milan likely to drop pursuit of PSG forward due to asking price

AC Milan tried to sign Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain but did not get very far because of the costs involved, it is claimed.

There have been quite literally dozens of different strikers linked since Igli Tare announced Milan’s intention to add a player in that position. Ramos is one of the ones that emerged more recently, though nothing too concrete ever came of it.

The journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported that Milan are ‘considering Gonçalo Ramos as top option’. Milan officials in talks with the Portuguese striker’s agents to explore the possibility of a deal.

He added that the Rossoneri have a budget of €30m for the striker position and that they believe a move for Gonçalo Ramos is feasible because he would fall within that price range.

Now, Tavolieri – of Sky Sport Switzerland – has given an update: “AC Milan try for Gonçalo Ramos deal with real talk that happened with his agents, but the price asked by Paris Saint-Germain’s definitely too high for the Rossoneri that doesn’t have this money to transfer a forward in the summer. PSG keen to make Ramos stay.”

Therefore, it seems that Tare and co. will have to move on to other names in order to fill the gap in the squad, with Dusan Vlahovic and Rasmus Hojlund among the profiles to gain momentum.
