AC Milan are beginning to consider potential replacements for Mike Maignan, and one name on the list is in the Premier League.
According to a report from TBR Football, the Tottenham management ‘were concerned about Vicario heading into the new season’ and those concerns have not gone away. This means they could look to move on from him.
They state that Milan wanted Vicario last summer and perhaps could come back in for him should Mike Maignan leave as expected. If Antonin Kinsky is given the nod by Thomas Frank to become the new number one, a return to Italy might become way more appealing to Vicario.
The 28-year-old has plenty of Serie A experience having previously played for Venezia, Cagliari and Empoli before getting his big move to the Premier League. He also has four appearances for the Italian national team, and would help towards the ‘homegrown’ quote for Milan if he were to arrive.

Maignan on the way out?
Recently, Matteo Moretto gave an update on Maignan’s situation that suggested we are witnessing the final few months of his time as a Milan player.
“At Casa Milan, one of the main topics is the future of Milan’s goalkeeper. Maignan’s contract expires in June: negotiations for his renewal are currently cold and, I dare say, frozen or blocked,” he said.
“The feeling is that this could be Maignan’s last year at Milan. The possibility that he could leave in January, with an offer lower than his value, or in June on a free transfer is an increasingly growing feeling.”
