Despite joining Massimiliano Allegri’s training camp late, Pietro Terracciano stated that he believes AC Milan are progressing well.
There is obviously going to be a period of transition for Milan this summer. They are not going to go from a Sergio Conceicao team (if one existed) to an Allegri side, it doesn’t work like that. So, steps just have to be made forward, at an acceptable pace.
A loss to Arsenal, narrowly at that, is not a bad result at all then, with key figures missing and work still to be done in the mercato. However, we can assess certain parts of the game and how it will translate to the Serie A season.
Post-Arsenal thoughts
So, after the game, Terracciano spoke to MilanTV about what the Rossoneri did well and the path ahead. As well, he took some time to discuss his own new situation, after joining recently, as MilanNews relayed.
“It’s a great feeling. It’s true that the result doesn’t matter now, but we still have to focus on doing well and getting the result. I think everyone showed great dedication, and we got some good responses.
“We knew we were facing a very technical team, who would press us high up the pitch. Still, I think we played our part. It’s clear that we’re only at the beginning of a journey; it will take some time, but I think we’re on the right track.”
Hunger and determination to restart after last year:
“I’ve also seen hunger and determination from the coach and the staff, who have tried to instill it in us. This is a group that wants to bounce back from last season, because we know that isn’t AC Milan’s true strength, and the spirit I’ve seen in the first few days of training is an important one. At least from that point of view, we’re on the right path, and it will take us far.”
On these first days with AC Milan,
“They welcomed me very well right away, but I had no doubts. I adapt quickly to new environments, a bit because of my character. I’m happy and I had no doubts that I’d be able to integrate right away.”
