“That’s why we signed Füllkrug” – Stefano’s Instant Reaction to AC Milan 1-0 Lecce

AC Milan were not at their absolute best against Lecce, but still dominated the game and ultimately deserved their 1-0 win.

After a number of chances and half-chances went begging, the only goal of the game came 15 minutes before the end. Matteo Gabbia picked out a run from Alexis Saelemaekers with a ball over the top, and he crossed for substitute Niclas Füllkrug to head in his first goal for the club.

The result means that Milan responded to the wins from Napoli and Inter on Saturday, and capitalise on Juventus losing against Cagliari. The gap to top spot is still three points, but there is now a seven-point gap to fifth place, which gives a bit of breathing room in the pursuit of a Champions League spot.
