AC Milan have a big game against Roma at the weekend, and whilst Massimiliano Allegri can only focus on that fixture, his opposite cannot.
For Allegri, he has refused to get caught up in the future this season. Whenever asked, the most important game is the next, whether that was a relegation team or a title fighter. It hasn’t mattered and this has regularly been the theme for the Italian.
So, despite Gerry Cardinale’s visit today and the meeting that they had, Allegri will still be focusing on the fact that his team plays this weekend, regardless of who they are facing.
It just so happens, though, that they are against a Roma side who are also fighting valiantly for a spot inside the European places.
Focus elsewhere
Tomorrow night, Roma will face Stuttgart in the Europa League, but it seems Gian Piero Gasperini has other things on his mind. When asked, he admitted that this weekend’s game against Milan was on his mind, as MilanNews relays from Sky.
“Undoubtedly, the match against AC Milan on Sunday is the one that takes all our attention, given our recent wins in the league and our position.
“At the same time, we also have this match against Stuttgart, who are an excellent team and we’re playing for the chance to go straight to the round of 16. It’s an opportunity to also see the younger players and their growth.”
