Theo Hernandez has responded to Rafael Leao’s farewell message, effectively confirming that his AC Milan exit is imminent.
Theo’s situation risked becoming one of many soap operas of the summer mercato as he repeatedly turned down Al-Hilal, despite the fact they had found an agreement with Milan over a transfer fee. However, he changed his stance which unlocked the door for Simone Inzaghi’s side.
It was reported earlier today that the left-back would undergo a medical in Paris, before signing his contract and making the deal official. Milan, meanwhile, are expected to get around €25m from the sale.
Leao published a post on his Instagram story, marking the end of the ‘Theao’ era: “My brother, my companion in many battles, together we have lived many beautiful and difficult moments, but it was a pleasure to be able to share the locker room and the pitch with you, my brother.
“I wish you all the luck in the world in this new phase. I will miss you so much, because over the years you have become an important person to me. It wasn’t supposed to end this way, but life is full of challenges. Good luck on this new journey, as always I will be rooting for you and for us!”
Now, Theo has replied to Leao with a comment on the post: “My brother, I will never forget what we experienced together and what we did together for this jersey. I love you so much, my brother… Good luck with everything! I will always be rooting for you, THEAO.”
