Malick Thiaw has confirmed that he is leaving AC Milan, speaking to reporters while arriving for his flight to England.

The German is all set to join Newcastle United in a deal worth €40m including bonuses, and it will bring an end to three years at Milan, having joined from Schalke 04 after the Scudetto-winning 2021-22 season.

Thiaw spoke to the journalists present including our own Luca Maninetti, reflecting on the time that he spent with the Rossoneri.

“These three years have been a pleasure. I’ve learned so much. I’ve grown as a player but also as a person. My fondest memory? I think the trip to the Champions League semi-finals. I’m happy with my choice; it was a pleasure.”
