Thomas Frank has already expressed his admiration for Antoine Semenyo following speculation linking the Bournemouth star with a move to Tottenham.

The 25-year-old attacker is presently amongst the most sought-after talents in the Premier League, with numerous top-flight clubs keeping close tabs on his development. According to Sky Sports, Spurs are amongst the clubs showing interest, alongside Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Back in June, Tottenham submitted an initial enquiry for Semenyo, but the Cherries' response was resolute; they harboured no desire to sell and it would require a bid approaching $92 million (£70 million) to change their position.

The north London outfit ultimately invested that sum elsewhere, though they may now revive their pursuit of the Ghana international before the January transfer window opens.

The left-flank role represents an area where Frank could certainly strengthen his squad, and the Danish tactician made his feelings about Semenyo abundantly clear exactly 12 months ago, hinting he would welcome Spurs' renewed approach for the attacker.

Whilst still managing Brentford and preparing for the Bees' encounter with Bournemouth, Frank identified Semenyo as the primary danger his team would need to neutralize.

"Semenyo can play wherever he wants to play. He's a fantastic player," said Frank. "I think he's been the best individual player for Bournemouth this season. He is definitely a player we need to look out for and do our best to close down."

His assessment was spot on, as Semenyo racked up 13 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances last season. The Ghanaian has maintained this stellar form into the current season, with six goals and three assists to his name in just 11 league matches.

Since joining from Bristol City in January 2023, he's evolved into one of the Premier League's most formidable and consistent forwards. Consequently, Spurs will need to dig deep into their pockets if they wish to secure his services.

It's understood that Semenyo is content on the south coast and hasn't requested a transfer, despite contrary reports, which have reportedly irked the player.

Arsenal and United also expressed interest in him over the summer but opted for Eberechi Eze and Bryan Mbeumo, respectively.

In July, the winger put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at the Vitality Stadium, meaning Bournemouth are under no immediate pressure to part ways with their star player.
