TMW: Galliani ‘closer to returning’ to Milan but not as president – the situation

Adriano Galliani is reportedly closing in on returning to AC Milan, but he would not be the club president.

Rumours about Adriano Galliani’s return to Milan have been gaining momentum in recent days, despite the denials that emerged from RedBird Capital. It is possible that he could leave Monza, who have just changed ownership after relegation to Serie B.

Return moves closer

TMW report that Galliani is ‘close to returning’. His role at Milan, if his great return to the Rossoneri does indeed become a reality, should not be that of president which was initially hypothesised and even seemed likely. Instead, he would become a ‘super-consultant’ to the club.

Galliani, essentially, would not return to duties strictly related to the sporting area – where Milan has already entrusted sporting director Igli Tare, who reports to CEO Giorgio Furlani – but would instead be responsible for representation, including operational duties, in institutional settings.

Il Condor would thus return to represent Milan in Lega Serie A , where for years he has been a key decision maker, most likely also on the stadium issue (a matter which President Paolo Scaroni has always dealt with), with the future of San Siro at the centre of news in recent days.
