TMW: Milan eyeing Atletico Madrid and West Ham strikers ahead of January

AC Milan’s management are actively looking for possible options to strengthen in the striker role, with two new names emerging.

Milan spent over €70m combined on Santiago Gimenez (who arrived in the winter window) and Christopher Nkunku (who joined in the summer), but they are yet to score a league goal this season so far. Thus, speculation has been rife that a new centre-forward could be sought.

Potential opportunities

TMW begin a report by pointing out that the league is offering the Rossoneri a great opportunity, because they sit one point off top spot after 10 games and could therefore end up in a Scudetto battle. Igli Tare is looking at strikers, and two more names have recently emerged.

The first is Niclas Füllkrug, acquired by West Ham for €26m plus €4m in bonuses from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024. His Premier League adventure isn’t going as expected, so if there’s any room for manoeuvre then Milan could try again, having been linked before.

The other name is Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth. Milan could potentially try for a swap deal with Gimenez, which the Spanish club would be in favour of. The Norwegian has two goals in 16 appearances this season across all competitions, having been displaced by Julian Alvarez.

Looking ahead, the Rossoneri are also eyeing Vasco da Gama’s rising star Rayan Vitor. The spotlight has been on him for some time, and it is possible that they could try to accelerate soon, given his rising profile.
