TMW: Milan rival Barcelona and Man City for Udinese star – enquiry made

AC Milan are among the growing list of admirers of Udinese’s Arthur Atta, who continues to impress in Serie A.

According to what is being reported by TMW, Atta ‘could make the leap to a top European club next summer’. Barcelona and Manchester City are closely monitoring the Frenchman, but he might also have the chance to remain in Italy too.

In Serie A, scouts from Napoli and Juventus are following him, while Milan and Inter have also enquired about his situation. Pozzo and the Udinese management agree that they will try to keep one of their best players until the summer, after which the feeling is that he could get a big move.

The right profile?

Born in Rennes, Atta is a central midfielder who can also play on the right flank when needed. The 22-year-old is proving to be one of the most consistent players in Runjaic’s squad: he has played 11 of 11 league games with 951 minutes in total, plus one appearance in the Coppa Italia.

He also has one goal and two assists showing that he is capable of generating some end product. No price tag is mentioned for Atta, but it is sure to keep rising if the impressive performances continue.

The question mark with relation to Milan would be where Atta fits. Luka Modric is expected to renew for another season, Adrien Rabiot has made a big impact, over €30m was spent on Ardon Jashari and over €20m on Samuele Ricci.

Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek remain under contract too and seem to have gained Massimiliano Allegri’s trust. Atta’s ability to play on the right could make him a suitable candidate for the wing-back role, however.
