AC Milan still want to sign another central defender, despite the fact that two arrived during the summer transfer window.
Right until the end of the summer window, Milan were looking for another centre-back as Massimiliano Allegri bedded in a three-man defence. Manuel Akanji seemed to be the man they wanted, but in the end he chose city rivals Inter for Champions League football.
A name that was also spoken about was Joe Gomez, but Liverpool not getting Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace saw that deal go nowhere. Wolfsburg’s David Odogu was who Milan ended up getting, a name practically unheard of because of his inexperience.
Two January targets
According to TMW, the winter transfer window will be crucial, especially for the search for a defender.
A signing is needed in the eyes of the management and they are already scouting profiles that might be useful.

One of them they have scouted already. Joe Gomez remains a viable option, given that Liverpool would then have plenty of time to find a replacement between now and January, perhaps Guehi.
He’s not the only one being considered though, as Thomas Kristensen of Udinese has entered the Rossoneri’s radar. It would not be a simple move, given that the Zebre always value their talents highly, but tonight they will get an up close look at the Danish giant.
