Tomori eyes the Scudetto to help World Cup dream: “A dream and I’m working”

Fikayo Tomori believes that winning the Scudetto with AC Milan can aid his chances of getting back in the England squad, with dreams of being in the World Cup team.

In recent years, Tomori has been overlooked by the England National Team set-up, with others regularly chosen ahead of him. Of course, he has had an up-and-down couple of seasons, but he remains one of the better options available.

Ultimately, the centre-back has probably deserved a chance, yet one has not arrived. However, the Englishman has not given up hope, and he aims to make the World Cup squad.

Tomori for the World Cup

Given that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been part of a few squads now, and the fact that Thomas Tuchel has attended a few Milan games, there is a chance, and the defender spoke to the BBC about what must happen, via MilanNews.

“The World Cup? Do I want to go there? Of course, I want it for myself and I know that winning the championship will help. I talked to Tuchel after the last break for the nationals in November. We’ve talked several times and the message is to keep doing what I’m doing.

“The World Cup is in six months and there is a lot of football to play. I know he’s watching and keeping an eye on him because he summoned Ruben Loftus-Cheek. This gives me the confidence that I can do it.

“He came to Milan last season and I know he receives our data and sees our videos regularly. The way he talked about it is that it’s difficult because there are so many players in that position, and I understand that because you have players like John Stones, Marc Guehi, Dan Burn and Ezri Konsa.

“But the World Cup is still a dream and I’m working for that.”

Winning the Scudetto would be a dream for the Rossoneri, so if two parties can achieve their dreams, it would be fantastic.
