Fikayo Tomori has insisted it is still too early for AC Milan to dream about a run at the title, even though they keep picking up big wins.
Milan moved top of the Serie A table at least temporarily, as they beat Lazio 1-0 at San Siro on Saturday night. Rafael Leao got the only goal of the game and Tomori had the assist for it, swinging in a brilliant low cross from the right side after a nice one-two with Youssouf Fofana.
The win means that the Rossoneri go top of the pile, while waiting for the result of Roma-Napoli on Sunday night. The unbeaten run in the league extends to 12 games and it is yet another win in a head-to-head clash, and a ninth clean sheet of the season too.
‘We stayed united’
Tomori spoke to Sky Italia after the full-time whistle to offer his assessments after what was another successful night at San Siro. His comments are via MilanNews.
A night alone at the top…
“They’re a good team, they gave us a hard time. We stayed united and we took home the three points.”
Can this group win the Scudetto?
“We have a good group. We’re united, we’re a team. It’s still early in the season, and we want to keep it that way.”
Are you allowing yourselves to dream?
“It’s still early. We want to continue on this path. We’re thinking about the next match and then the one after that.”
