Disaster strikes again for Tottenham with two more players to add to the growing list of absentees ahead of the clash with Newcastle United.
Spurs lost to Man United on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t just three points that went missing. Thomas Frank saw his skipper, Cristian Romero pick up a red card, and Destiny Udogie go off injured.
The Lilywhites were already struggling through an injury crisis before this weekend, and now matters are far worse as we look ahead to a midweek game against Newcastle.
We know Romero will miss the next four games, but he’s not the only one who’ll be watching from the sidelines on Tuesday night.

Tottenham have 12 first-team players out for Newcastle clash
Counting Romero’s suspension and Udogie’s injury, Spurs are now up to 12 players who will miss out on the next game.
They join a long injury list that includes long-term absentees James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. Ben Davies is also out for the season after undergoing surgery last month.
Meanwhile, the likes of Richarlison and Pedro Porro are all unavailable for at least a couple of weeks, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus, and Lucas Bergvall are likely to be missing until April.
Little is known about Djed Spence and Kevin Danso’s situation, but they are expected to be back relatively soon.

What starting Spurs XI can Thomas Frank actually pick?
That’s pretty much a very strong first XI, minus a goalkeeper, and the slew of injuries leaves Thomas Frank with very few options when it comes to actually fielding a team.
Obviously, Guglielmo Vicario will remain in goal. Archie Gray will have to fill in at full-back, while new boy Souza will likely start against Newcastle. Micky van de Ven will probably be partnered with Radu Dragusin at centre-back.
In midfield, Joao Palhinha and Conor Gallagher will be key, with Xavi Simons playing in the number 10 role. Pape Sarr is also an option there, but out on the wings, it’ll be a struggle. Wilson Odobert is an obvious choice, while Mathys Tel will probably play on the other side.
Dominic Solanke remains fit to play up top, but Spurs don’t really have any other option there to back him up if he needs a rest anytime soon.
