Tottenham hold a keen interest in a striker who has found the back of the net nine times this season, but the transfer race for the player is now heating up.
Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware of the speculation that Spurs are keen to add a centre-forward to their squad in January, even though Thomas Frank has Dominic Solanke, Randal Kolo Muani, Mathys Tel and Richarlison at his disposal.
One man who has been heavily linked with a move to N17 is Samu Aghehowa, whom the Lilywhites have scouted extensively this season.
It has been claimed by some sources that Fabio Paratici will spearhead Tottenham’s pursuit of the Porto man, with some sources reporting that Spurs can sign the Spain international for less than £70m in January.

Tottenham face Newcastle United in competition for Samu Aghehowa
Football Insider have now confirmed that the 21-year-old is one of the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist.
In fact, it is revealed that the Lilywhites view him as the ‘ideal’ choice to lead their line, but they will not have a free run at him.
This is because Newcastle United are also monitoring the progress of Aghehowa despite signing both Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade in the summer.
The report adds that the Spaniard is happy at Porto, but the Portuguese club are bracing themselves for offers for their star man.
Two more Premier League clubs eyeing Aghehowa
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has also weighed in on the speculation, explaining that while the Magpies do have an eye on the Porto man, he is not their priority target for January.
However, he reveals that the former Atletico Madrid man is also being pursued by both Aston Villa and Chelsea.
O’Rourke tells Football Insider: “It won’t just be Newcastle [interested in Aghehowa], it’ll be interesting. Newcastle did look at him when they were looking at replacements for Alexander Isak before they moved for Nick Woltemade, so, he’s obviously on their list.
“I don’t think it’d be a top priority for them now, having brought in Woltemade and Wissa, but Tottenham are interested in him. Arsenal and Villa are also interested in Aghehowa as well.
“So, I think come the summer there could be a lot of clubs who’ll be interested in the big striker and Porto might have a real fight on their hands to keep hold of him.”
