Tottenham Hotspur star hopes to play during international break despite two games out

A Tottenham star, who missed the last two games through injury, is hopeful of featuring for his country during the international break.

Tottenham had 12 absentees against Copenhagen, but that did not stop the North Londoners from demolishing the Danish side to build some much-needed momentum and confidence.

Some of the key men are expected to be fit to face Man United, including Mohammed Kudus, who has said that he expects to be ready for Saturday’s game.

There is now a positive update on another Spurs midfielder, who was forced out of the Champions League clash on Tuesday, as well as the game at home to Man United.

Graham Potter makes a revelation about Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall

Lucas Bergvall suffered a concussion against Chelsea last week and was forced off in just the seventh minute of the contest.

Thomas Frank has confirmed that Bergvall has been ruled out for the Man United clash, but the new Sweden boss, Graham Potter, has now revealed that the 19-year-old is hopeful of featuring for his country during the upcoming international break.

Potter told the Swedish football official website: “As things stand right now, they (Bergvall and Alexander Isak) are available. Lucas has had a concussion, but hopes he can be there when it is time for us to play.”

Bergvall has a chance to make Spurs midfield his own

While Thomas Frank was initially hesitant to split up the partnership of Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur, we have seen a departure from the norm over the past two fixtures.

Pape Sarr has come in as an all-action alternative alongside Bentancur in the Champions League, then next to Palhinha in the pivot against Man United.

Many would argue that Lucas Bergvall’s attributes lend themselves more to a number eight position than a number 10, meaning he could be able to force himself into that box-to-box midfield role.
