Tottenham suffer another key injury blow as player withdraws from national squad

There is more bad news for Tottenham Hotspur on the injury front, with a key player suffering a significant injury against Man United.

Thomas Frank has had to deal with a bloated injury list over the past few weeks, but things appeared to be improving.

Dominic Solanke was edging close to a return after his ankle surgery, and the England international’s return would have relieved Tottenham’s woes up front.

However, the Lilywhites have now received terrible news regarding another striker, who himself only returned to action a few weeks ago.

Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani is forced to pull out of France’s squad

Kolo Muani led the line for the Lilywhites against Man United on Saturday, but he was withdrawn at half-time due to an injury.

It is now being reported by RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins that the Tottenham Hotspur forward’s injury is more serious than initially suspected.

Examinations have revealed that Kolo Muani has suffered a fractured jaw, and as a result, he has now pulled out from the Les Blues squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

Spurs will continue to rely on Mathys Tel and Richarlison

There has been no exact timeline given for Solanke’s return, with Thomas Frank stating he hopes to have the Spurs striker back before the end of the year.

Following this latest blow to Kolo Muani, the Lilywhites will now have to rely on Richarlison and Mathys Tel to get them through the next few games, including the North London derby on November 23.

The fact that both players got on the scoresheet is a positive, and Frank will hope that it boosts the pair’s confidence ahead of a crucial run of matches coming up in the Premier League and the Champions League.
