Tottenham Hotspur have been handed some bittersweet news, and it has to do with two centre-forwards on the North London club’s radar.
Randal Kolo Muani has been backed to come good by pundits after his strong performance against Copenhagen, with the striker now having earned a recall to the France squad after putting his injury woes behind him.
Dominic Solanke is also edging closer to full fitness after having ankle surgery over a month ago.
However, despite these developments, it has been widely reported over recent weeks that Tottenham are keen on adding a number nine to their squad in January.
There has now been a big update on the future of a 25-year-old striker, who has been heavily linked with a move to N17 in January.

Tottenham target Jonathan David has not impressed the new Juventus manager
According to some reports, Spurs have launched an inquiry for Jonathan David, who has struggled to produce the goods since his summer move to Juventus, having found the back of the net just once this season.
A new report in Gazzetta dello Sport has now revealed that the Canadian international has failed to win over the new Juve boss, Luciano Spalletti.
The outlet says that David is going through a ‘downward spiral’ in Turin and, having fallen further down the pecking order, a January exit is thought to be on the cards for the player.
The outlet points out that the Bianconeri may be happy to get the striker’s €6m (£5.2m) per season salary off their wage bill, and adds that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are both circling over the former Lille man.
A blow for Spurs in their pursuit of a Fabio Paratici favourite
The premise of this update by Gazzetta dello Sport is the fact that Dusan Vlahovic has moved ahead of David in the Juve pecking order, and the Serbian is now more likely to stay.
This comes as a bitter blow to Tottenham, who have been named as Vlahovic’s most likely destination in January, if he were to leave the Allianz Stadium.
It has been claimed that Fabio Paratici was set to spearhead Spurs’ pursuit of the former Fiorentina star, but it sounds like the Lilywhites may have to settle for David instead in the upcoming transfer window.
