Tottenham urged to put £10m bonus on the table to help avoid £250m losses

Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham to make a mouth-watering offer to Roberto De Zerbi as Spurs look to avoid the drop this season.

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in a dire situation in the Premier League this season, as they run the risk of being relegated.

Spurs sit a point and a place above the relegation zone, but that could have been different had West Ham United secured a win against Aston Villa before the international break.

A West Ham victory over Emery’s side would have sent Tottenham into the bottom three. At the moment, it all looks to be going downhill for Spurs, who are without a win in the league this calendar year.

It is said that Tottenham could lose as much as £250m from a shock relegation.

Jamie O’Hara urges Tottenham to make Roberto De Zerbi manager

Igor Tudor is now under intense pressure as he struggles to keep Tottenham in the English top flight. It is understood that his time in the Spurs dugout is nearing its end, with reports claiming that Tudor and Tottenham have agreed to mutually part ways.

Should the Croat be sacked, Spurs will need to land a manager who can help them retain their Premier League status, with seven games left to go.

Roberto De Zerbi has been linked with the Spurs job, though it is believed he is eyeing a summer move if he is to return to management.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jamie O’Hara has now explained what Tottenham must do to secure De Zerbi immediately, insisting the club cannot afford to wait and outlining a bold financial incentive to convince him.

“He would want to come in the summer. But we cannot wait! You have got to get him now. Bring him in, give him a £10 million bonus if he keeps Tottenham in the Premier League. And if they go down, give him a break clause. Get him in now, make it happen!”

Spurs concerns over Roberto De Zerbi grow despite strong record

Some sections of the Tottenham fanbase are not entirely sold on the appointment of De Zerbi, with some believing he is “toxic”.

But there is no denying De Zerbi’s quality as a manager, given the impressive stint he had with both Brighton and Marseille.

The Italian manager kept Brighton competitive during his time in the dugout and led Marseille to a Champions League finish during his first season there.

However, beating the drop is an entirely different challenge, and it remains to be seen if it is something he can achieve should he opt to join Tottenham.
