Totti explains why he has changed his mind on Milan’s season: “Favourites in the Scudetto race”

Francesco Totti has named AC Milan among the favourites to win the Scudetto this season, revisiting some earlier predictions. 

Before the season began, many would have been forgiven for putting Milan slightly lower in the table rankings than others. Given last year’s performances, though, it made sense; the Rossoneri, ultimately, were not a serious contender.

However, after the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri and a few new key players, the Diavolo are flying. In fact, they are only a few points off the top spot, and their H2H rankings make them a contender alone.

Totti puts Milan near the top

Of course, there have been a few bumps in the road, as expected. Yet, they look pretty comfortable in their current position, and this weekend’s derby offers an opportunity for them to return to the top spot.

There is a long way to go until the title is decided, and Totti has admitted that they are now among the favourites, as MilanPress relays from his DAZN interview.

“This year, the three favourite teams are Inter, Napoli, and Milan. I’ve reevaluated the Rossoneri because, by playing once a week, they have more time to recover and organise, plus they have a great coach like Allegri who can manage everything. These are the teams that will fight until the end.”
