2 hours ago 3

Liverpool fans serenaded Trent Alexander-Arnold with Steven Gerrard's song just seconds after the Reds' former vice-captain was loudly booed on his return to to Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold made his first appearance against his boyhood club following his summer move to Real Madrid as the two sides did battle once again in the Champions League league phase. Having left supporters of his old club disgruntled with the manner in which he departed, Liverpool fans made sure to make their feelings clear on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old was booed when he made his way out to warm up with his teammates, and the home support increased the volume when he made his way off the bench during the second half with his side 1-0 down.

Liverpool's fans would then go on to sing about club legend Steven Gerrard - who has previously revealed he turned down a move to Madrid - as well as Conor Bradley, who has taken up Alexander-Arnold's mantel at right-back.
