Ahead of the game against AC Milan, Juventus manager Igor Tudor spoke to the media at the usual pre-match conference. Among other things, he heaped praise on the veteran Luka Modric.

Tomorrow’s game is expected to be an exciting one underneath the Allianz Stadium lights. Milan and Juventus have both started the season well, with just one point separating the two right now, and the winner would certainly receive a huge confidence boost.

Juventus, while unbeaten this season, are coming off four consecutive draws (two in the league) and are thus in desperate need of a win. It’s a similar problem to what we saw last season, when Thiago Motta was in charge of the team.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference (via Calciomercato.com), Tudor admitted his side need a win to bounce back tomorrow, while also highlighting the strengths of Milan. He also singled out Modric, who will be a key player, hoping that ‘he screws up tomorrow’.

On the game…

“I don’t know what kind of game it will be. They’re a top-notch team with a great coach, great players, and they are in good form. We are playing at home and we have to put in a good performance.

“Any priorities? No, I care about everything. The passes have to be right. With technical players, it’s easy to make the right passes, but you win with heart, desire, determination, and set pieces. I want to see everything every day.”

Two draws already this season…

“We’re missing a win, that’s clear. Against Atalanta and Villarreal, we put in two great performances, outperforming our opponents. They pushed hard and gave everything, and we were close to getting the three points. However, a draw isn’t enough for Juve.

“I don’t care about numbers. The team has improved in the last two games, and that’s what matters to me: that they do what we coach and give their all. The result depends on many factors.”

On Modric…

“I also played with Modric in the national team. Someone like him will never be born again. No one comes close to him; he’s twice as good as anyone else. At 40 years old, he’s still playing at this level. It’s something never seen before. I’m proud of him, but I hope he screws up tomorrow.”
