AC Milan are working on completing the rearguard, with a key renewal and several targets in mind to strengthen at the back.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), it cannot be considered an emergency to sign a new central defender, but adding an experienced player to work under Massimiliano Allegri certainly isn’t a bad idea for the rest of the season.
For this reason, the Rossoneri management have reportedly set their sights on several players who could be a good fit for the coach and his 3-5-2 system.
One renewal, three targets
There are three names that Milan are pursuing above all. The first is someone who apparently came close to joining in the summer window: Liverpool’s Joe Gomez. He has made just four appearances for the Reds this season, confirming that he is now on the fringes of Arne Slot’s coaching project.
The other two are well-known faces in Serie A: Lazio’s Mario Gila and Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen. The big dream is Kim Min-jae of Bayern Munich, another centre-back who knows the league well, but he earns a big salary in Germany.

Alongside a potential new signing, Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare are working to secure one of the cornerstones of the current defence: Fikayo Tomori. He has returned to playing at a high level under Allegri and the staff.
The parties are reportedly working towards a deal that could be signed within a few months, with the English defender ready to commit to Milan until 2029.
