Tuttosport: Allegri keen on reuniting with Juventus midfielder at Milan – the latest

AC Milan and Roma are interested in Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie on a free transfer when his deal expires, a report claims.

A report from Tuttosport claims that Juventus are keen on signing Bryan Cristante from Roma, whose deal runs out at the end of the season, and that McKennie could go the other way in what would effectively be a free transfer swap.

McKennie on Max’s radar

Damien Comolli must decide whether or not to extend the contract of the American midfielder, who has established himself as a starter even under Luciano Spalletti. He’s a practically indispensable all-rounder for every coach, given his remarkable ability to effectively juggle multiple roles.

In recent years, he’s been deployed everywhere. He even once played as a false nine. A couple of MLS teams have been courting him for a sensational return to his homeland, perhaps as early as January, but it seems a ‘bit early’ to head back to the United States.

His agents are eyeing the Premier League as a possible destination, a league where McKennie has unfinished business. His five-month spell with Leeds was disastrous and so a return to England would tempt him, even if staying at Juve remains his first choice.

Now the ball is in Comolli’s court: will the CEO accept the €3.6m plus bonuses contract through 2029 that Giuntoli put in place a year ago for a renewal? If the answer is yes, the extension appears destined to be sealed. Although. the question of renewal fees remains to be discussed and evaluated.

Otherwise, keep an eye on two admirers of McKennie: Massimiliano Allegri and Gian Piero Gasperini. The former knows him well and would gladly have him as a wildcard in Milan’s midfield, just as the Roma coach had already requested him in the summer.

It’s hard to imagine Milan signing a midfielder unless one leaves the club, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the one that has been in the headlines as a possible candidate.
