Tuttosport: Allegri pushing for Gatti but Juventus reject first swap proposal

With a desire to sign another defender this month, AC Milan have looked to make a move for one of Massimiliano Allegri’s former players.

It is no surprise that Allegri is looking for players whom he trusts. After all, his staff are built with the same motivation and even in the summer, a few former players were linked. So, it is not shocking news that the theme is continuing.

No for now

Koni De Winter has already arrived as a former defender, and it seems that he may not be the only one to share a previous experience with Juventus if Allegri is to get his way. As Tuttosport reports, the coach is also pushing to sign Federico Gatti.

The Italian defender is not available per se, but a move cannot be ruled out, especially if Juventus get a defender in return. So, the Rossoneri have tried to organise a swap deal, but it has gone unsuccessfully.

As is reported, Milan attempted to ‘test the waters’ with a move including the former Juve man De Winter, but there was no interest in the deal. As a result, it seems other candidates may be considered for the time being.

Though it could be revisited later in the month if the defender does not get a chance after returning from injury.
