Whilst the AC Milan squad cannot be strengthened with new talent currently, it can be secured and this is the plan.
The closing of the mercato means Milan now have a few months to plan for the summer, and in turn, the squad. Of course, there may be conversations in the background too, for players who are out of contract in a few months.
Dusan Vlahovic’s situation, then, could be the big focus for the management in the next few months. However, they will also have a few focuses closer to home.
Renewals in the works
According to Tuttosport, via Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri will begin talks with a few players to extend their deals at the club.
It starts with Davide Bartesaghi, whose renewal is already effectively finalised. He will sign a new contract worth €1.8 million per season until 2031. A clear reward for his progress this season after locking down the wing-back position.
On the opposite side of the defence, Fikayo Tomori’s future will also be cemented soon. Positive feelings have been present for a few months now, and discussions are ongoing with the relevant parties.
Finally, considerations are being made about Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Strahinja Pavlovic. The Englishman’s deal expires next summer, whilst the Serbian is already being considered for a renewal until 2031.
Milan are keen to reinforce the pillars of the team, certainly.
