Massimiliano Allegri will put his faith in Christopher Nkunku tomorrow night, but it may be his final opportunity to shine for AC Milan.
When Nkunku signed, he did not really cover what Milan needed. Allegri had been asking for a physical striker all summer, and the Frenchman isn’t that, nor was he ever. Instead, he was another second striker option.
Since then, it has been reported that Giorgio Furlani was behind the signing, with the relations with Chelsea aiding negotiations. However, it may seem that the CEO will have to start new negotiations for the Frenchman soon.
Nkunku’s fate
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews24) write this morning, the game against Napoli could be his ‘final call’ for the Rossoneri. Allegri will give him another chance in the Supercoppa Italiana, but with another striker on the way, his chance is fading.
If he can help his team get through and even win the competition, maybe he can restart for the Rossoneri. However, if it is another showing like his season so far, questions will only get louder about his future.
