Tuttosport: Galliani ‘can now return to Milan’ after rejecting Monza stay – the situation

Adriano Galliani’s time at Monza has come to an end, and now he could rejoin AC Milan in some capacity.

Tuttosport (via MilanPress) have an article this morning titled: ‘Some loves never end. Galliani returns to AC Milan’. The long-time CEO is ready to return to Milan in a new role, a role that’s still unclear and the club is keeping confidential.

Gerry Cardinale’s offer has won him over, to the extent that he rejected an offer from the incoming Monza ownership to remain at the club as the president.

What will Galliani be dealing with?

What’s expected of ‘Il Condor’, the newspaper writes, is a major political contribution, filling the gaps that have existed in the Lega Calcio in recent years following the departure of Ivan Gazidis.

He will then reunite with Massimiliano Allegri, the man he and Silvio Berlusconi backed in the summer of 2010 after his time at Cagliari. Sometimes they come back, but it won’t just be Galliani that returns to the red and black.

Along with the now ex-Monza director, Mauro Bianchessi is also expected to return to Milan too. He previously held various roles at the Rossoneri, including head of grassroots activities and U14 scouting.

Together with Filippo Galli, he was in charge of the youth sector from 2012 to 2018, while he also worked as a chief scout for the first team before leaving for Lazio and – most recently – Monza.
