The next few days should be decisive in determining whether or not Rasmus Hojlund joins AC Milan, according to reports.

Speaking before the game against Bari at San Siro on Sunday night, Igli Tare confirmed that Hojlund is an option which is being considered. However, he is not the only one, implying that something needs to shake loose otherwise alternatives will be studied.

Decisive days await

Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) confirm that Hojlund is the favorite to wear the No.9 shirt for Milan in the 2025-26 season. Manchester United left him out of the squad for the first Premier League match, which was ‘a real slap in the face’ for the Dane.

Negotiations between Manchester United and Milan for Hojlund’s transfer to the Rossoneri this summer can now accelerate. The English club have expressed a willingness to sell the Scandinavian player on a loan deal (€5m).

However, there is disagreement over the terms of the buy-out: Milan would like a €35m option to buy, while United want a €45m obligation. The player himself also wants guarantees that the move can become permanent, if he is to leave Old Trafford.

Hojlund would like Milan or another club (Newcastle are being talked about, should Alexander Isak go to Liverpool) to commit to buying him at the end of the season. He doesn’t want to experience a year in limbo, and so could ask his current club to lower their demands.
