Inter are looking for a new central defender for the future, and the latest target is a name that is also on AC Milan’s radar.
The summer transfer window in Italy closed last week, but the transfer market remains open at all times thanks to the gossip columns in the newspapers and the unfinished business many clubs have.
This applies to Inter too, with the management already searching for a new central defender to replace Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vri, both of whose contracts expire at the end of the season.
Milan derby for Koulierakis ?
Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) reports that the name Inter are increasingly interested in is Konstantinos Koulierakis. He has been strongly linked with Milan in the past and is clearly a talent they have appreciated since his time at PAOK Thessaloniki.
The left-footed centre-back signed a long-term deal until 2029 with Wolfsburg a year ago, having signed for €12m. His value has now doubled after making 36 appearances – with two assists – for the German club, in addition to playing 16 times for the senior national team.

According to the paper, the Nerazzurri’s attempt could be one in view of next season. Yet, it cannot be ruled out that it could be brought forward to the winter, to beat the competition and allow Koulierakis to grow calmly under the wings of Acerbi and de Vrij.
How might Milan fit into this? It perhaps depends on the development of David Odogu, signed ironically from Wolfsburg on the final day of the summer window to be the final centre-back. Many fans and experts consider the centre-back department to still be incomplete, though.
