There is uncertainty about whether Rafael Leao will be able to feature in AC Milan’s home match against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
Not long after Adrien Rabiot’s goal had made it 2-1 in the win over Torino earlier in the month, Leao attempted a wonder goal of his own with an effort from 25 yards out, but he dragged his attempt wide of the far left post.
Moments after that, it became apparent that the Portuguese had sustained a problem while letting go of that shot, and he has been out since. He went to Saudi Arabia with the squad for the Supercoppa Italiana, but sat in the stands for the semi-final loss.
Doubts about Verona
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Leao still has some minor physical discomfort to overcome, which is why his appearance against Verona is anything but a given.
During today’s press conference, Allegri will undoubtedly provide more information on the Portuguese’s condition, as he has been struggling with a number of ailments since the start of the season.

In light of this, Tuttosport’s headline this morning reads: ‘Allegri, for the fireworks you only have Pulisic left’. Despite having also missed several matches, the USA international has seemed the most consistent of the forwards, especially when it comes to performances in terms of goals and assists.
If Leao were unavailable, then it would likely be up to Christopher Nkunku to partner up with Pulisic in the front two, still searching for his first league goal since arriving and with uncertainty surrounding his future.
