AC Milan are already discussing a new contract for Alexis Saelemaekers after a strong start to the season from the Belgian.
There have been a few players standout this season. Of course, Luka Modric, who is a class above many. Santiago Gimenez, for reasons outside of his control. Then, the shock of Saelemaekers, but is it really a shock?
When he returned from injury last season, he was a staple for Roma, and looked like a key part of Claudio Ranieri’s side who were fantastic since he got the job. Saelemaekers was very much at the core of that team.
Since returning to Rossoneri colours, the theme has continued. He has shown brilliance and maturity at wing-back and stood out in pre-season and the first few games of the campaign.
The latest on Saelemaekers’ renewal
Massimiliano Allegri was strongly against him being sold this summer, and it seems to have been for good reason. Now, talks are already set to start regarding a new contract, and some information has been revealed.

According to Tuttosport, via PianetaMilan, discussions with Gordon Stipic have already began, with the Diavolo hoping to secure a two or three year extension on his current deal, that is set to expire in 2027. This would mean a deal until 2029 or even 2030.
With this, the winger would also see a deserved pay increase from the current €2 million to around €3m.
