Tuttosport: Milan begin Pavlovic renewal talks amid Premier League sirens – the situation

Strahinja Pavlovic is having an impressive second season with AC Milan so far, so much so that the club want to reward his performance.

According to Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera), Pavlovic’s form under Massimiliano Allegri has pushed the Milan management to accelerate the renewal of his contract, in an attempt to fend off the potential interest that could arrive.

The Strahinja strategy

Contacts have begun between the Rossoneri and Pavlovic’s representatives to extend the Serbian centre-back’s contract. The fact that his deal is currently expiring in 2028 means that there is no immediate emergency, but it is always better to ask ahead of time.

It is a move also aimed at quickly averting the dangerous transfer market sirens that could be coming from the Premier League. In fact, a couple of clubs across the Channel have already set their sights on the Serbian for next season.

Allegri, since his arrival, has placed great faith in the former Red Bull Salzburg man, making him a key figure in his starting eleven: It’s a completely different story compared to last year’s troubled season, when he bounced between the pitch and the bench.

Pavlovic has never considered leaving the Diavolo for his part, so the message is clear from both parties: ‘Let’s move forward together’. Work is underway to extend his contract until 2031, with a salary increase.
