Before Adrien Rabiot arrived, AC Milan lost their only game of the Serie A season. Now, they have not lost since…
Sometimes, things are so simple in football that they get forgotten, and with Rabiot, his arrival can fall into that category. The Frenchman, despite a very strange summer, landed in Milano ready for the third game of the Serie A season, and he was ready from the off.
For Massimiliano Allegri, his requests had not been successful all summer where he was involved, until late on. When the chance arose, he took it and Rabiot arrived after the first international break of the season.
Galloping with Rabiot
His impact on a basic level looks impressive enough. This morning, Tuttosport, via MilanNews, went deeper into the statistics.
He has been one of the Rossoneri’s most decisive players this season, bringing several key traits to the squad. From leadership to charisma, phyiscality to finishing, he has everything that Allegri’s midfield needs, and probably a little more.
He has played 13 games for the club, averaging 2.5 points per game with him in the side. If he played the remaining seventeen league games, continuing that average, by Allegri’s calculations, Milan would win the league.
Without him, the average falls to 1.6 points per game. A rather seismic drop, all things considered. Now, they must find others that can drive that average up, too.
