Tuttosport: Milan have time to work – Allegri’s side have advantage until February

The season is quickly getting on and AC Milan will start to have an advantage over others in the division, it seems. 

As of this moment, Milan sit in a fantastic place. They have the best record against the big teams in the division, whilst also sitting in second place. In other words, they are on track to reach their goal of the Champions League this season.

However, they could be given a further boost by the calendar in the weeks and months to come.

Pros of being without

This is the first year that the Rossoneri have been without European football in a while, and the result of this is overwhelmingly negative in the accounts. However, it could have some perks in the longer term.

As Tuttosport reports, Massimiliano Allegri will now be granted the advantage of time against his opposition around the top of the table, given that most have European commitments. In fact, he could almost be given an extra month.

Between having no midweek fixtures and travelling to said games, as MilanPress relays, he will gain 26 days over his competitors, given his team have no commitments, barring the Supercoppa Italiana. So this time can be considered an advantage, allowing him to work with his team.

If it aids a Scudetto push, or even just a place in the top four, he will be grateful for it.
