One of the situations that AC Milan are wrestling with is the future of Mike Maignan, and Igli Tare is looking around for potential replacements.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan will return to the pitch tomorrow against Torino for one of their final matches of the year. The new year is fast approaching and with it comes some situations that must be addressed, like Maignan’s future.
Igli Tare recently spoke about the issue, stating: “At the start of the season, we made a pact. We’ll move forward together without putting each other under pressure.” This statement was intended to quell controversy and postpone any future discussions, but it’s clear that time is running out.
Possible replacements
The more time passes, the less confidence there is in the renewal. Meanwhile, the management are looking around because they need to plan for not having their captain. Several names are on the table, from Elia Caprile and Zion Suzuku to Noah Atubolu and Andriy Lunin.

Lunin remains a name to keep an eye on: he has a contract until 2030, has barely played this year, and Real Madrid’s asking price is around €25m. Lunin had already been linked to Milan as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma , but nothing came of it.
Now another breakthrough could come from Jorge Mendes, the Ukrainian’s agent. His excellent relationship with Luka Modric could also be a plus, but it’s clear that everything will depend on how the situation regarding Mike Maignan evolves.
