It seems increasingly likely that AC Milan will return to the Champions League next season, which will be a financial boost. But it will not be the only boost they receive.
At present, it seems difficult to imagine a season finale where Milan are not in the premier European competition next season. They sit pretty comfortably in second, and there are no signs of them slowing down to the point of no European football.
As a result, the Rossoneri can begin to plan for targets, with a fitting budget in mind. However, that will not be the only money available to them.
The loan fund
As Tuttosport, via MilanNews24, writes, the financial foundations for next season are already being laid. In fact, the club are expecting at least €60 million to arrive, thanks to various clauses in loan deals which should be activated.
Alex Jimenez should become a Bournemouth player permanently this month, which is already a guaranteed €20m boost.
Then, Tommaso Pobega and Lorenzo Colombo are expected to depart from the Diavolo, which would provide another €17m for Allegri to make use of. Finally, Samuele Chukwueze’s performances for Fulham make it likely that he will also be redeemed at the end of the season, adding another €30m.
Allegri is desperate for a ‘top-tier striker’, as well as an experienced defender. €60m, then, should surely be a significant boost for those aspirations.
