Robert Lewandowski continues to be mentioned as a serious idea for AC Milan, who want to strengthen their attacking department.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning, Milan still has a centre-forward problem despite the many millions they have spent on players for that particular role dating back over a decade, from Carlos Bacca to Santiago Gimenez.
To try to solve it, at least temporarily, the management are considering essentially repeating the same move that brought Luka Modric from Real Madrid. More specifically, they are evaluating bringing in a highly experienced player who could perhaps help a talent like Francesco Camarda develop.
Lewandowski, Barcelona and Milan
The one name that has been linked with the Diavolo repeatedly in recent days is that of Robert Lewandowski, the 37-year-old Barcelona striker. His contract with the Blaugrana expires on June 30th, and the Pole has not yet decided whether to stay or not, by his own admission.
The Catalan club can exercise a clause to extend his deal for another year, but will only use it if the Pole declares his intention to stay. Milan are closely monitoring the situation and is ready to move if Lewandowski decides to end his time at Barça.

Obviously, this is an option that would only solve the striker problem immediately, one that has been going on for too many years. The last one to perform consistently was Olivier Giroud, but the likes of Divock Origi, Noah Okafor, Luka Jovic and Alvaro Morata all did not pan out as hoped.
Santiago Gimenez arrived last January with great expectations, but he too is struggling. This is precisely why Milan are considering bringing in a new centre-forward who is a safe bet, and that name is Lewandowski.
