AC Milan’s preparations for the Derby della Madonnina against Inter will get into full swing on Tuesday, and there is good news expected.

After Friday’s friendly defeat against Virtus Entella, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that Massimiliano Allegri granted his team three days of rest. They will meet tomorrow afternoon at Milanello to begin preparations for the derby against Inter, scheduled for Sunday night.

The first internationals will meet again tomorrow at the training complex, and news is expected regarding the conditions of Adrien Rabiot and Santiago Gimenez.

‘Operation derby’ gets underway

Rabiot suffered a soleus injury while playing for France during the October break, but he is doing better and should return to full training with the group tomorrow.

The former Marseille man’s absence from midfield has been felt significantly in recent weeks. He will be called up for the match against Inter and is also aiming to start.

Allegri is also hoping to have Santiago Gimenez back, who is recovering from a long-standing ankle problem that he decided to try and resolve.

Tomorrow at Milanello, the first players who have completed their international duties will also be back. Gabbia, Ricci, Maignan, Nkunku, Leao and Pavlovic are expected. Modric and Odogu will return to training on Wednesday.

The remaining players – Bartesaghi, Saelemaekers, De Winter and Athekame – will return on Thursday. From that day, the group will therefore be complete again and ‘operation derby’ will definitively begin.
