Tuttosport: Premier League duo and a ‘Mister X’ – Milan evaluating late opportunities

5 days ago 26

The end of the 2026 winter transfer window is drawing ever closer, and the feeling is that AC Milan’s business might be done.

After signing Niclas Fullkrug in early January, everything seems to have gone quiet. However, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recall that the window can be unpredictable, especially in the final days, so if the opportunity arises then Milan will be ready.

Movement possible

The paper adds that it is possible some players will ask to leave their current clubs between now and February 2nd to play regularly elsewhere. It’s no secret that Milan are currently looking for opportunities to strengthen their defence, so the two concepts could marry well.

The latest name to emerge in recent hours is Nathan Aké of Manchester City, whose agents have reportedly held talks with Milan officials. Pep Guardiola – given the various injuries decimating his defence – isn’t keen on letting the Dutchman go.

Despite this, it is possible the player himself could ask to make the switch to get more playing time ahead of the World Cup. The Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman has long told him he needs to play more if he hopes to be called up.

Another name that has been persistently linked to Milan in recent days is that of Radu Dragusin, who is on his way out of Tottenham where he’s struggling to find playing time. The former Genoa and Juventus man could be an interesting last-minute opportunity on loan with option to buy.

We must also watch out for a hypothetical ‘Mister X’: a surplus player at a top club who could ask to be sold in the final hours of the winter window.
