Tuttosport: Return and renewal – all eyes on Pulisic ahead of Pisa trip

1 week ago 27

After the win against Bologna, AC Milan are back in action against Pisa tonight and they will welcome Christian Pulisic back into the fold.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recall this morning, Pulisic missed the trip to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara due to bursitis. He returned to full training during the week leading up to the game in Pisa, and he will be available tonight to Massimiliano Allegri.

A double mission

The USA international is still without a goal in 2026 (his last goal was on 28 December against Hellas Verona) but has overcome his physical problem and is now available again. He will start on the bench in Pisa because his condition obviously cannot be optimal, as Allegri also confirmed.

Up front, therefore, Christopher Nkunku and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will lead the line. It is the same pairing seen from the start against Bologna ten days ago, and both of them scored in that particular game, the former from the spot.

Alongside Pulisic on the bench will be Rafael Leao, also not in top form due to the well-known inflammation in his hip area. Niclas Fullkrug will join them, who at this moment represents an important substitution for Allegri during the match.

In recent weeks, there has been much discussion about Pulisic’s contract situation, as he currently has a deal until 2027. Milan, however, can exercise an option to extend his deal until 2028. The Rossoneri will most likely use it, but they want a longer-term deal.

It’s undeniable that in recent seasons Pulisic has been one of Milan’s most decisive and consistent players, which is something that needs rewarding. Igli Tare and the rest of the directors will do everything to tie him down long-term, especially given his strong bond with the fans.
