Tuttosport: Sliding doors for Gimenez and Dovbyk once again – how they compare

Throughout the summer, the idea of Santiago Gimenez and Artem Dovbyk was discussed heavily. However, AC Milan could never arrange a deal. 

The summer posed several different storylines, but the most interesting one was probably that between Milan, Roma, Gimenez and Dovbyk. As the summer months passed, several ideas did, but Dovbyk remained on the list, as did the Mexican.

With deadline day approaching, both clubs seemingly were ready to pounce, then they weren’t and then they were. An almost constant chop and change. At one point, it even seemed like both could play for the Rossoneri.

In the end, though, it didn’t matter, and both remained, even if the idea is being looked at again already.

Shared fates

Today’s edition of Tuttosport looked at the situation once again, as MilanNews relays, with the paper stating that the duo were almost like sliding doors. Both are similar in so many ways, and their goalscoring woes this season only prove it further.

Perhaps, had they moved, their fates would be opposite and maybe that will be seen in the future. However, it is difficult not to compare the two, given how closely their situations are aligned, from the mercato to the pitch.
