Tuttosport: Udinese win is Allegri’s ‘first great result’ – why he will be pleased

There were several things to like about the AC Milan performance this weekend. However, Massimiliano Allegri will probably be the happiest.

When Allegri arrived at Milan, there was one thing that many believed would happen: a defensive sorting. So far, there certainly has been, and the Rossoneri are already reaping the rewards for it, as seen this weekend.

Allegri’s vision

A 3-0 win is superb; however, Tuttosport (via MilanPress) have looked at another side of that win. Whilst most will rightly focus on the Rossoneri’s performance going forward, the backend also deserves praise. In the past three seasons, there have been 135 goals conceded in 114 games.

Under Allegri, that has shifted down to two goals in five games.

Already, the Allegrian Milan is being seen, and there are several elements to it. The attack is efficient, quick and off the mark, for the most part. In midfield, the quality is seen, felt and envied by those around them.

Then, the Italian’s mark is truly seen at the back, where solidity has finally arrived for the Rossoneri. More now than ever, the loss on the opening day looks to be an anomaly, both in terms of result and the goals conceded.

Even with Allegri suspended, his work is still seen and felt on the pitch.
